The talented Bernese DJ and producer Stefan Willengger
aka DJ Mastra is back after winning international
recognition with his debut maxi Foyer EP (Inzec 018).
His new energetic and compelling Minibar EP is to be
released at the start of 2005 on Inzec Records. Deep
progressive Techhouse comes closest to defining the style
somewhere in the range of DJ Fex from Paris. Track A1
Single Mode delivers a punchy stomach-tickling bass-line
complemented with blistering synthesizer soundscapes an
ultimate dance track fulfilling the needs of any clubber.
A2 Liquid Room is a power-driven track broken-up with
spacious reverb and beginning with beautiful crystalline
melodies supported by Stefans masterfully accomplished
rolling rhythms. A thrill for nightflies. B1 Lush
Vegetation delivers what the title suggests: progressive,
hypnotic funk with a hot, tropical atmosphere guaranteed
to transform any club into a steamy greenhouse. B2
Flying Buffet, spiked with dreamy film sequences,
completes the journey in harmony with a warm, rising sun.
Relax and smile. Stefan has again succeeded in fusing
clear, transparent sound-syntheses with irresistable drives.
It wasnt by chance that his Foyer EP was rewarded
with nominations at Massive Charts UK, Hypnotic Charts
(DJ Fex) Paris and KGBEATS Records Chicago. But most
of all, his DJ and producer skills have been rewarded by
the many DJs and audiences from the minimal
Technohouse scene whove welcomed his work with open
arms. Previous reviews: De:Bug, Raveline, Groove,
